International Competition: Swimming at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, reached the finals of the 200 and 400-meter individual medleys... finished fourth in the 400 IM (4:38.67), moving up three spots from a seventh place prelim (4:43.07)... also at Trials was fourth in the 200 IM with a time of 2:12.26 after the ffith best semfinal (2:12.62) and fifth place prelim (2:14.19)... also swam at Trials, where she was 27th in the 200 back prelims (2:16.02).... picked up a gold medal at the World University Games in China in 2011 with a win in the 400 IM with a time of 4:40.79 after a solid showing at the U.S. Nationals in her own pool.... At Stanford a week earlier, was a silver medalist in the 400 IM, three seconds (4:37.88) behind Florida's Elizabeth Beisel (4:34.78) and a bronze medalist in the 200 IM (2:11.92), less than a second behind Beisel again. Picked up a bronze medal as a part of the third place 4x200 free relay team. Also fourth as the lead off leg of the 4x100 medley relay, two seconds short of a medal behind her Stanford teammates. Placed 12th in the 200 free in the B Finals and swam 21st in the C Finals of the 200 back (2:11.14)... at the LA Open to open the summer was third in the 200 back (2:13.55) and second at the Santa Clara Invite in the 400 IM (4:40.90)... reached the B Finals of the 400 IM at the 2010 ConocoPhillips National Championships in the Summer of 2010, finishing tenth overall... also reached the consolation finals of the 200 back, where she was also tenth.
2011-12 (Sophomore): Closed out her sophomore season as a four-time All-American (nine total) following an NCAA runner-up finish in the 200 back, third place showing in the 200 IM and fourth place finish in the 400 IM... set the age group record for swimmers under 19 as she became the fifth woman ever to swim under four minutes in the 400 IM (3:59.88)... was less than a second behind Elizabeth Beisel of Florida (1:50.58) to finish second in the 200 back with a mark of 1:51.42... swam third in the 200 IM with a mark of 1:53.89... has finished second or third in four of six individual events-- the 200 IM (2011, 2012), 400 IM (2011) and 200 back (2012) in her career... also seventh in the 800 free relay in 2012 at NCAAs... won the Pac-12 title in the 200 back with a time of 1:52.77... also second at the conference meet in the 400 IM and third in the 200 IM... during the regular season won the 200 back over Cal, USC, the 200 IM over Arizona 200 breast over Pacific and 400 IM over ASU... honorable mention Academic All-Pac-12.
2010-11 (Freshman): Named the Pac-10's Freshman of the Year and was a five-time All-American... moved into the Stanford record book in the 200 back (second all-time, 1:52.04) and third in the 200 IM (1:54.66) and 400 IM (4:01.02)... times ranked No. 5 nationally in the 200 back, No. 3 in the 200 IM and No. 4 in the 400 IM... NCAA runner-up in the 200 IM with a time of 1:54.66 and finished third in the 400 IM with a mark of 4:01.02, the third-fastest time in school-history and fifth in the 200 back with a time of 1:52.45... part of fifth place 400 free relay team as well at NCAAs and the consolation champion 800 free relay squad... at Pac-10s, was the conference champion in the 200 back (1:53.04) on Saturday for the Pac-10 Champions and earlier in the week, a conference runner-up in the 400 IM (4:02.48) and third in the 200 IM (1:55.11)... against the Women of Troy, won the 200 back and 100 back and was second in the 200 IM... picked up a meet record in the 200 back (1:52.04) and another win in the 200 IM at the Long Beach Arena Invite in the fall... season began with wins in the 100 and 200 back at the George Haines Invite.
High School, Club and Personal Data: Four-year letterman in swimming at Maria Carrillo High, captaining the team as a junior and senior... 10-time All-American and four-time state champion... won state titles in the 200 IM for three seasons (2008-2010) and in the 100 free (2010)... turned 17 midway through her junior season, posting the fastest 400-yard IM time (4:06.48), second-best 200 back (1:55.11) and third fastest 500 free (4:43.87) and 200 IM (1:57.80). Once turning 17, she had the third fastest 200 IM time (1:56.17), at one point setting the state record in the event... four-time team MVP... left as the California state high school record holder in the 200 IM... placed third at the 2009 National Championships in the 400 IM... daughter of Ruben and Marit DiRado... has one older sister, Sarah... married to former Stanford men's swimmer Rob Andrews.
