International Competition: Swimming in Omaha at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Swim Trials, finished 36th in the 100-meter free (56.29).... swimming at the U.S. Nationals at Stanford in 2011, won a bronze medal in the 4x200 medley relay as the third leg and another bronze in the 4x200 free relay. Was also fifth as a part of the 4x100 free relay team won by another quartet of Stanford teammates past and present... finished 23rd in the C Finals of the 100 free (55.70), 24th in the 50 free (25.94) and 27th in the 100 fly (1:00.51)... at the LA Open to begin the summer, was ninth to win the B Finals of the 200 IM (2:19.44).... won the C-final of the 100 freestyle, placed seventh in the B-finals of the 200 and 50 freestyles, and placed sixth in the C-finals of the 200 Im at the 2010 Santa Clara International Invite...placed 15th in the 100 and 50 freestyles and placed eighth in the 200 freestyle at the Los Angeles Grand Prix...placed 19th in the 50 freestyle and 21st in the 100 freestyle at the ConcocoPhillips National Championships...member of the 2009 U.S. Youth Team which competed at the Mel Zejac, Jr. Swim Meet in Vancouver, Canada... was a silver and bronze medalist in Canada in the 800 and 400 free relays... swam at the Maccabiah Games in Israel in 2009, winning five golds and another four silvers... also set five swim records at the games in the 50, 100, 200 freestyles, 200 individual medley and 400 freestyle relay... qualified for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 100 freestyle and butterfly.
2011-12 (Junior): Part of two NCAA titles, setting a school-record in the 200 free relay (1:26.85) to open up the championships, before closing out the meet, two days later, by setting a school and American record in winning the NCAA title in the 400 free relay (3:10.77), both times swimming the third leg... it was part of five All-America honors for the junior, after she was seventh in the 100 free and eighth in the 200 free... also scored points as a part of the seventh place 800 free relay team.... at Pac-12s, won the title in the 200 free relay as well as the 400 free relay...swam sixth in the 100 free at conference... during the regular season set the pool record at USC in the 100 free at 49.58... won the 200 free at the Arena Invite in the fall... set pool record in the 200-meter free relay at Michigan leading off to a tune of 1:45.00 in a tri-meet with the Wolverines and Florida Gators.
2010-11 (Sophomore): Twice named an All-American in the relays, finishing fourth as a part of the 200 free relay on day one and winning the consolation finals of the 800 free relay on day two of the NCAAs... ranked No. 12 nationally in the 100 free... also a part of the Pac-10 Champion 200 free relay team... second-fastest Stanford swimmer at the Pac-10 100 free (fifth) and 200 free (sixth), both won by teammate Kate Dwelley... also won the consolation finals of the 50 free (22.69).... conference runner-up in the 400 free and 800 free relay teams.... began year by winning the 200 free at the George Haines Invite... academic All-Pac-10.
2009-2010 (Freshman): Earned All-American honors in the 800 freestyle relay as part of the sixth place finishing team...was part of the 400 freestyle winning relay at the Pac-10 Championships...finished third in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:46.02, seventh in the 50 freestyle (22.53), and fifth in the 100 free (48.53) at the Pac-10 Championships...won the 50 yard freestyle against UCLA (23.3)... won the 100 freestyle against Arizona.
High School, Club and Personal Data: Swimming for Venice High, she set four CIF sectional records, the 100 and 200 freestyles in 2009, the 100 backstroke in 2008 and the 100 butterfly in 2007... was an eight-time CIF sectional champion, winning the 100 freestyle (2009, 2006) and 200 freestyle (2007, 2008), the 50 free as a freshman, the 100 butterfly as a sophomore and the 100 backstroke as a junior... all years team MVP... was a captain her senior year... set all of Venice High's swim records... swam for Team Santa Monica from 1999 to 2009, earning the club's swimmer of the year award from 2006 to 2009... in July 2009 selected as the female high school athlete of the year by the Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame... daughter of James and Melanie Goodman Murez... has one older brother, Zachary Murez... brother swims for Yale... Grandfather Raymond Federman swam for the French national team... Grandfather Joe Murez, who taught her how to swim, swam in Vienna, Austria prior to WWII... majoring in human biology.
