Named the Goalkeeper Specialist Assistant Coach on June 4, Maddie Kahn enters her first season on The Farm as a member of the Stanford field hockey staff.
A standout athlete during her five years of competition, Kahn arrives on The Farm after stints with North Carolina and Lehigh. Kahn brings championship-level experience to Stanford, leading North Carolina to the national championship last season as the starting netminder for the Tar Heels.
Most notably, Kahn earned Most Outstanding Player honors following her performance in the NCAA Championship against Northwestern, turning away a critical 2-on-1 attack late in the second overtime period before denying Northwestern four times during shootouts to secure the win.
Prior to her time in Chapel Hill, Kahn was a four-year starter at Lehigh where she started between the pipes in each of her 61 games with the Mountain Hawks. The Ocean City, N.J. native lead Lehigh to the 2022 Patriot League Championship and collected numerous accolades, including multiple All-Patriot League honors and a 2021 Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year selection.
Additionally, Kahn's talent and dedication were recognized on the national stage as she was a multiple-time age-level United States national team member on the U17, U19, and U21 teams. At the U21 level, Kahn was part of the U.S. team that played in the Junior World Cup in South Africa and the 4-Nations Tournament in Ireland.
In her new role, Kahn will work closely with Stanford's goalkeepers, providing individualized coaching and support to help them reach their full potential.
