STANFORD, Calif. — Megha Ganne will be representing the United States on one of the biggest stages at the 2025 World Amateur Team Championships on Oct. 1-4 at Tanah Merah Country Club in Singapore.
Ganne earned an automatic spot in the World Amateur Team Championships by virtue of her U.S. Women’s Amateur title earlier in August. She captured the Robert Cox trophy by becoming the 125th champion of the U.S. Women’s Amateur, defeating Brooke Biermann 4&3 over 36 holes in the finals.
It’s been a memorable summer for the rising senior from Holmdel, New Jersey. She is ranked fourth in the World Amateur Golf Rankings and adds the World Amateur Team Championships to a long list of representing the U.S. She has competed at the Arnold Palmer Cup for Team USA each of the last two years and was a 2022 Curtis Cup representative for the United States.
Caroline Sturdza was the most recent Cardinal to represent her country at the World Amateur Team Championships, doing so for Switzerland in 2022-23. Rachel Heck and Rose Zhang were the last to tee up for the United States when they did so in 2022.
Ganne joins Kiara Romero of Oregon and Farah O’Keefe of Texas in representing the USA and competing for the Espirito Santo Trophy.
The World Amateur Team Championships is a biennial international amateur golf competition conducted by the International Golf Federation, consisting of 72 holes of stroke play (18 holes a day over four days). In each round, the total of the two lowest scores by the three players from each team constitutes the team score for that round. The four-day total is the team’s score for the championship.
The Singapore Golf Association will host the 2025 World Amateur Team Championships. In 2023 at Abu Dhabi Golf Club, the Republic of Korea captured the nation’s fourth Espirito Santo Trophy.
