Cardinal's Second Varsity Eight Boat Honored as Co-ACC Crew of the Week

No. 2 Stanford swept conference foes No. 10 Virginia and No. 11 Syracuse in every race over the two-day regatta at Redwood Shores

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Stanford's second varsity eight boat has been named the ACC's Co-Crew of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

The weekly award win is the second for the Cardinal in the ACC in so many opportunities. Stanford's second varsity eight lineup Saturday at Redwood Shores was comprised of senior Lucy Burrell, juniors Abbey Heinemann, Nora Goodwillie, Ellie Sutro and Susie Mallen and sophomores Matilda Drewett, Madeleine Greenstock, Katherine Mote and Quincy Stone

The second varsity eight boat earned the largest margin of victory (18.4 seconds) for Stanford in its two days of racing against No. 10 Virginia and No. 11 Syrause at Redwood Shores April 12-13.  Throughout the regatta, all Cardinal boats won every race they competed in and did not mark a margin of victory less than 5.5 seconds over the Cavaliers and Orange.

Stanford next travels to Austin, Texas to compete at the Longhorn Invite April 25-26. The Cardinal is slated to meet reigning NCAA team champion No. 1 Texas and No. 20 Oklahoma while in the Lone Star State.
