Stanford softball sets eyes on NCAA attendance record of 12,566

2025 Promo Schedule Big Swing Tickets

STANFORD, Calif. – The Stanford softball program is swinging for the fences and looking for a record-breaking crowd at The Big Swing against California on Saturday, April 19. The rivalry game at Stanford Stadium gives Bay Area softball fans an opportunity to be part of history, as the program eyes the NCAA softball attendance record of 12,566.

The record of 12,566 was set on opening day of last year’s Women’s College World Series on May 30, 2024. The regular-season record of 8,930 was established on March 31, 2023, when Oklahoma hosted Texas in Norman, Oklahoma.

As part of the Big Swing, the upper deck at Stanford Stadium will be opened to accommodate an increased crowd – up from the approximately 6,700 seats available for the Cardinal’s other home games.

The Big Swing headlines the program’s full promotional schedule, which can be found at GoStanford.com.

The first giveaway of the season is this Friday, March 7, with 2025 magnet schedules available to early-arriving fans. On Sunday, March 9, the first 750 fans will receive cardinal and white pom poms as part of Youth Day.

Saturday, April 5, will be Pups at the Park Day – canine companions are welcome, and Stanford dog bone mats will be given away while supplies last.

The Cardinal will wrap up the season’s promotional schedule with Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday, April 26, against Virginia, followed by Senior Day on Sunday, April 27.

Tickets for the Big Swing against California are available here, and start at just $15. Tickets for the rest of the softball season can be found at Tickets.GoStanford.com.
