Caroline Bricker, Aurora Roghair, Lillie Nordmann, and Kayla Wilson put on dominant display to win 800 free relay crown

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - It didn't take long for No. 3 Stanford to tally its first national champions of the 2025 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, as Caroline Bricker, Aurora Roghair, Lillie Nordmann, and Kayla Wilson put on a dominant display to claim the 800 freestyle relay title on Wednesday evening. 

The group dominated the field by nearly five seconds in the final heat of the night, clocking a 6:46.98 to roll to an opening night title. Bricker, Roghair, Nordmann, and Wilson became Stanford's 13th 800 free relay national champions in program history and the Cardinal's first in the event since 2022. 

The Cardinal quartet of Annika Parkhe, Lucy Thomas, Gigi Johnson, and Torri Huske made history in their own right in the 200 medley relay, clocking a program-record 1:33.00 to finish runner-up in the event. The four Cardinal swimmers clocked bested the previous program best of 1:33.11, set by Ally Howe, Kim Williams, Janet Hu, and Simone Manuel in 2018.

After a pair of All-American relay efforts, the Cardinal sit tied for the lead with Virginia at 74 points after night one. 

Competition resumes tomorrow with the 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, 1-meter dive, and 200 free relay. Morning prelims begin at 10 a.m. PT with finals to follow at 6 p.m. PT. All swimming and diving action will be streamed live on ESPN+.
