Three More Podium Finishes

Caroline Bricker and Lillie Nordmann claim 200 IM medals while another Stanford relay finishes in the top three

GREENSBORO, N.C. - No. 3 Stanford added three more podium finishes on Friday evening wrapping up day four of the ACC Swimming & Diving Championships. 

Action got underway with a pair of podium finishers in the 200 fly, as Caroline Bricker (1:52.37) and Lillie Nordmann (1:52.44) swam to second and third place finishes in the event. Freshman Emily Thompson also reached the “A” final after an impressive prelim showing, finishing 7th with a time of 1:55.52.

The 100 back saw a pair of freshmen earn second swims as Annika Parkhe swam a career-best 52.45 swim in the “C” final to finish 21st overall, while Levenia Sim finished seventh in the “B” final with a 52.70. 

Lucy Thomas was the lone Cardinal to compete in the 100 breast event on Friday, posting a 1:00.06 in the prelims before clocking a 59.63 in a dead heat to tie for the win in the “B” final and place ninth overall. 

The night came to a close with the 400 medley relay, where the group of Natalie Mannion, Torri Huske, Lucy Bell, and Nordmann posted a 3:26.98, the best time of Stanford’s season, to come in second. The Cardinal has reached the podium in each relay event so far this week. 

Stanford has a clear hold of second place with 852 points after four days of competition, trailing only Virginia with 1040.5 points. 

The ACC Championships comes to a close tomorrow with the 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 400 free relay, and the platform dive.
