STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford junior Alyssa Jones was named Women’s Indoor Field Performer of the Week by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Tuesday.
Jones, a six-time All-American, won the long jump at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational at the Albuquerque (N.M.) Convention Center at 21-5 ¼ (6.53 meters), winning by 7 ½ inches.
Jones is the top-ranked long jumper in the ACC at 21-8 (6.60) and is No. 8 in NCAA Division I. Jones is a four-time top-four placer in NCAA long-jump competition and was a two-time Pac-12 champion.
Jones, a civil engineering major, also ranks No. 8 nationally in the high jump, at 6-1 ¼ (1.86), and is tied for first in the ACC.
This is the first ACC Performer of the Week honor for Jones, who next competes at the ACC Championships on March 1-3 in Louisville, Kentucky.
