Stanford Dominates Duke

Cardinal defeats Blue Devils, 37-12, in Durham

DURHAM, N.C. - No. 17 Stanford registered seven wins by bonus points to defeat Duke, 37-12, Sunday, at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The Cardinal, which tallied its most points in a dual this season, improves to 10-4 overall and 2-3 in the ACC. The Blue Devils drop to 4-14 overall and 0-6 in ACC action.

The dual began at 184 pounds where Stanford's Cole Han-Lindemyer set the tone with an 11-2 major decision over David Hussey. The true freshman registered the first dual win of his career and moves to 5-3 overall.

No. 22 Nick Stemmet added to the Cardinal lead with a 20-4 technical fall in 4:36 against Kwasi Bonsu. It was the third tech fall for the fifth year, who now boasts 97 career wins. He is 18-8 overall and 10-4 in duals this season.

No. 31 Peter Ming knocked off No. 29 Connor Barket, 12-5, at heavyweight. Ming trailed 4-0 in the second period, but came back to score three takedowns and notched three near fall points to pick up his 13th win of the season.

A forfeit at 125 pounds by the Cardinal finally got Duke on the scoreboard. Leading 12-6, Stanford reeled off five straight wins to lock up the team score.

It started at 133 pounds as No. 7 Tyler Knox posted a 17-0 technical fall in 5:34 over Raymond Adams. It was the second tech fall of the season for the redshirt freshman, who improved to a team-best 22-3 overall and 13-1 in duals.
