Stanford Artistic Swimming claims fourth consecutive conference crown

NORTON, Mass. — With four event wins across two days, the Stanford artistic swimming program claimed its fourth-consecutive MPSF Conference crown. Since the MPSF started sponsoring artistic swimming in 2022, the Cardinal has been and remains the only conference champion.

Stanford started the meet with a strong outing on day one, claiming titles in Tech A and trio to kick-start its title defense. Standout rookie Megumi Field led the pack in Tech A, claiming first place with a score of 80.59 while fellow Stanford freshmen Dalia Ovadia and Calista Liu followed suit, claiming second and third with all three performers separated by less than two points. The Cardinal deferred in the Tech B event.

Stanford also claimed the trio title on day one with the group of Field, Ovadia and Audrey Kwon taking the top spot with a score of 256.11, finishing 25 points ahead of the rest of the field. Coming in second place - earning valuable team points in the process - was the trio of Liu, Lindi Schroeder and Yara Elian with a score of 228.76. Both groups were the lone ensembles that surpassed 200 points on their respective routines.

Wrapping up day one action in the solo event, graduate student Emmanuella Tchakmakjian had a strong outing, taking second place with a score of 178.03 as Stanford’s lone performer in the event. The Cardinal also deferred point totals in the solo toward its team total.

With two event titles up for grabs on the final day, Stanford dominated the field, taking the top two spots in the duet before claiming the team title en route to its overall meet win. In the duet, Field and Ovadia continued their impressive 2025 campaign, claiming their third duet win with a score of 226.27. Stanford’s Schroeder and Liu finished closely behind with a score of 212.52, narrowly surpassing both of Incarnate Word’s groups by just over half a point to earn a valuable second place outing. Elisa Brunel and Ella Rau also placed well during the event, claiming fifth with a score of 199.91.

Needing a strong showing in the team portion to secure its fourth conference championship, the Cardinal once again showed its poise with the group of Miko Begossi, Ivy Davis, Elian, Field, Kwon, Liu, Ovadia and Schroeder edging out Incarnate Word by just under half a point to claim the event title with a score of 242.27. Stanford bookended the podium in the team event with the third place group of Brunel, Rau, Yujin Chang, Emily Ding, Cambell McMillan, Atira O’Neil, Manu Pindi and Haley Chu earning a score of 231.94 to firmly secure Stanford’s fourth-consecutive conference title.

Stanford begins its postseason quest in two weeks when it hosts the USA Artistic Swimming Western Regionals on Saturday, March 1. The Cardinal also hosts Ohio State for a dual meet the following day on Sunday, March 2 in its final tune up before the USA Artistic Swimming National Championships.
