Mother Nature Forces Opening Day to Saturday Doubleheader

Due to poor field conditions, Stanford and Cal State Fullerton will not play on Friday

FULLERTON, Calif. – Due to poor field conditions at Goodwin Field following heavy rain in Southern California, Stanford and Cal State Fullerton baseball have postponed Friday’s Opening Day game and will instead play a season-opening doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, field conditions permitting.

The remainder of the original four-game series remains intact, with 1:05 p.m. first pitches set for Sunday and Monday.

According to Cal State Fullerton, Friday night’s game ticket will now be Saturday’s 2 p.m. game ticket. Saturday’s originally-scheduled 5 p.m. game ticket will remain the ticket for the second game played on Saturday.
