MPSF's On the Docket

Stanford heads back to the northeast with a chance to win fourth-straight conference championship

Championship Central Watch Live

STANFORD, Calif. — Stanford heads back to the northeast this weekend with a chance to claim hardware for the fourth-consecutive season, taking part in the 4th MPSF Artistic Swimming Championships on Feb. 15-16. This season’s championships are hosted by Wheaton College at the Balfour Natatorium.

Stanford heads into the weekend competition having repeated as champions of the Jessica Beck Invitational two weeks ago. Freshman Megumi Field, who was named MPSF Artistic Swimmer of the Week on Feb. 3, helped aid Stanford to three of its four event titles in the duo, trio and team portions. Senior Emmanuella Tchakmakjian took home the win in the solo portion to complete a meet sweep for the Cardinal.

Stanford returns a plethora of experience from last season’s roster to this weekend’s championships and has faced two of its three conference opponents head-to-head this season. The Cardinal took down defending national champions Incarnate Word at home to begin the season before squaring off against Wheaton College two weeks later, placing well despite limited performances against the Lyons.

This weekend’s championships begin with the technical competition along with the trio and solo finals on Saturday, February 15. The duet and team final’s are slated for the late morning and early afternoon, respectively, on Sunday to conclude the meet as Stanford looks to earn its fourth conference crown. Since the MPSF began sponsoring artistic swimming in 2022, the Cardinal has been the only conference champion.

Following MPSF’s, Stanford returns back to The Farm, hosting the USA Artistic Swimming Western Regionals on Saturday, March 1 before finishing off the regular season against Ohio State on Sunday, March 2.
