A summary of how Cardinal alums fared around the league

BY RECEIVING HIS first start with the Los Angeles Chargers, Tucker Fisk became the sixth Stanford alum to start at tight end this NFL regular season, cementing the school’s reputation as Tight End U.

And with safety Kendall Williamson signed to the Chargers’ practice squad three weeks ago, there are now 29 former Cardinal on NFL rosters, including practice squads and injured reserve.

The following is a summary of how former Cardinal fared in Week 11 of the NFL season:

Los Angeles Rams tight end Colby Parkinson caught a 19-yard touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford with 3:30 left in the third quarter for the eventual winning points in a 28-22 victory at New England. It was Parkinson’s only catch while in on 19 offensive snaps and six on special teams. Joshua Karty made five extra-point tries for the Rams.

Patriots’ tight end Austin Hooper had four catches for 35 yards while playing 39 offensive snaps and five on special teams.


Washington starting tight end Zach Ertz caught a five-yard touchdown pass and a two-point conversion pass, both from Jayden Daniels, late in a 26-18 loss at Philadelphia for NFC East supremacy on Thursday night. Ertz caught six passes for 47 yards against his former team while in on 53 (80 percent) offensive plays. The touchdown, with 28 seconds left, was his second of the season. Philadelphia defensive tackle Thomas Booker was in on six defensive plays and one on special teams.

San Francisco starting running back Christian McCaffrey rushed for 79 yards on 19 carries in the 49ers’ 20-17 loss to visiting Seattle. In his second game back after injury, McCaffrey also caught four passes for 27 yards while playing 59 (94 percent) offensive snaps.

Kansas City starting strong safety Justin Reid had six tackles, including four solo, in the Chiefs’ 30-21 loss at Buffalo that ended their hopes for an undefeated season. Reid played all 73 defensive snaps and five on special teams. Buffalo defensive end Casey Toohill had two tackles, including one solo for no gain, while playing 11 defensive snaps and seven on special teams.

Minnesota starting nose tackle Harrison Phillips had one tackle in the Vikings’ 23-13 victory at Tennessee. Phillips was in on 27 defensive plays as the Vikings (8-2) remained within one game of the division-leading Detroit Lions in the NFC North.

Los Angeles Chargers tight end Tucker Fisk received his first start of the season and became the sixth Stanford alum to start at tight end in the NFL this year. Fisk caught one pass for six yards during a touchdown drive. Fisk, in the third start of his NFL career, was in on 24 offensive plays and nine on special teams. Chargers’ offensive tackle Foster Sarell played six special teams downs. Cincinnati receiver Trenton Irwin returned three punts for 34 yards, including a 17-yard return. Irwin played four offensive downs and six on special teams.

Houston tight end Dalton Schultz caught five passes for 33 yards in the Texans’ 34-10 victory at Dallas on Monday night. Three catches aided scoring drives, with two going for first downs. Schultz played 48 (75 percent) offensive snaps as the Texans (7-4) continue to lead the AFC South.

New York Jets defensive tackle Solomon Thomas had one solo tackle in a 28-27 loss to visiting Indianapolis. Thomas played 19 defensive snaps and four on special teams.

Jacksonville starting left offensive tackle Walker Little played all 48 offensive downs and two on special teams in the Jaguars’ 52-6 loss at Detroit on Sunday.

Miami punter Jake Bailey held on six placekicks in the Dolphins’ 34-19 victory over visiting Las Vegas. Raiders’ offensive guard Andrus Peat was in on three special teams snaps.

New York Giants linebacker Bobby Okereke, and Arizona tight end Elijah Higgins and receiver Michael Wilson had byes.

Atlanta center Drew Dalman and Houston quarterback Davis Mills did not play.

Miami cornerback Ethan Bonner and Philadelphia quarterback Tanner McKee were inactive.

The Los Angeles Chargers signed safety Kendall Williamson to their practice squad on October 30, giving Stanford 29 players on NFL rosters.

Washington receiver Brycen Tremayne was on the practice squad.

New Orleans cornerback Paulson Adebo, Los Angeles Chargers receiver Simi Fehoko, Pittsburgh offensive guard Nate Herbig, and San Francisco linebacker Curtis Robinson were on injured reserve.
