CHARLOTTE, N.C. – One of the top centers in all of college basketball, senior Maxime Raynaud has been named one of five National Players of the Week by the United States Basketball Writers' Association (USBWA), in conjunction with the Oscar Robertson Trophy. Raynaud was also honored as the ACC Player of the Week on Monday, Nov. 18.
Raynaud, who ranks second in the ACC in scoring (21.3) and first in rebounding (12.8) this season, has led Stanford to a 4-0 start for the first time since 2019. In wins over Northern Arizona (Nov. 12) and UC Davis (Nov. 17) this week, Raynaud averaged 27.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game while shooting 56 percent from the floor and 55 percent from beyond the arc.
The Paris native leads the country in double-doubles with four to begin the year and he has moved up to second nationally in rebounds per game.
His most recent against UC Davis came with a career high 33 points to go with a season-high matching 14 rebounds. Raynaud's 33 points were the most for Stanford in a single game since Reid Travis had 33 against Washington on Feb. 22, 2018, and his 33-point double-double was the program's first since Landry Fields had 35 points and 10 rebounds against UCLA and Feb. 4, 2010.
Raynaud became the program's 51st member of the 1,000-point club at Stanford in the win over the Aggies, and he stands just 35 rebounds away from entering the program's top-15 all-time.
