STANFORD, Calif. - No. 3 Stanford returns to southern California this weekend to open up the 2024 MPSF slate.

The Card will take on the two top-ranked teams in the country in No. 1 UCLA and No. 2 USC.


HOT START » Stanford is off to a strong 11-1 start to 2024, outscoring opponents 190-106 in the process.

LAST TIME WE MET... » The Cardinal is coming off a win in its last meeting with the Bruins, coming out of the MPSF tournament's third place game with an 11-10 overtime win in 2023.

USC got the better of Stanford last month, winning 12-11 in double overtime at the MPSF Invitational.

TOP COMPETITION » Stanford already boasts seven top-10 wins on the season, winning at No. 8 UC Irvine and No. 4 Pepperdine last weekend at.

LEADING THE CARD » Riley Pittman has the team's early lead for both goals and assists, with 31 and 19, respectively. Pittman is tied with Soren Jensen and Jackson Painter for the lead in multi-goal games with seven.

Pittman's six goals at No. 4 Pepperdine on Sunday matched the team best for single-game goals this season, tying Jack Merrill's total from the Sept. 8 win over Concordia.

FRESHMEN ON FIRE » The freshmen have been key contributors so far this season, with Ryan OhlBotond BaloghBen Forer and Will Schneider combining for 52 points (33 goals 19 assists) on the year.

RECORD ON WATCH » Jackson Painter's 166 career goals with Stanford have him 18 goals shy of the 10th-most in program history. The last edit to the program's top-10 list was 2021.
