Huske becomes the 17th different individual in program history to win an Olympic gold medal and just the second Stanford swimmer to win gold in the 100 butterfly, joining 1964 gold medalist Sharon Stouder Clark.
It is Huske's second medal in as many days at the Paris Olympics, winning silver in the 4x100 freestyle relay on Saturday alongside Cardinal alum Simone Manuel. She now has three career Olympic medals, also earning silver in Tokyo as a member of the American 4x100 medley relay team.
The Cardinal junior will continue her Olympic run with the 100 free on Tuesday morning, with the opportunity to compete in the 4x100 medley relay later in the week.
