Card Poised for Olympic Trials

Stanford athletes, current and alums, compete at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials in Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. – Sixteen Stanford athletes, including current athletes and alums, are competing at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials from June 21-30 at Hayward Field. 

Juliette Whittaker and Roisin Willis, who finished first and second in the women’s 800 meters at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on June 8 are among those competing for spots in Paris from July 26-August 11. 

Alyssa Jones, who was third in 2024 NCAA outdoor long jump, also is seeking to represent the U.S. Jones, Whittaker, and Willis, just completed their sophomore seasons on The Farm.

The Stanford contingent is headed by 2020 Olympic women’s discus gold medalist Valarie Allman, as well as men’s distance runner Grant Fisher, a holder of three American records. 

Distance runner Elise Cranny is seeking her fourth consecutive U.S. 5,000 title and second Olympic berth, and decathlete Harrison Williams hopes to earn a repeat U.S. title and his first Olympic berth.

Overall, Stanford will be represented by 11 women and five men.
