Malcolm Moore has earned an invite to the 2024 Major League Baseball Combine

STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 24 overall prospect in the 2024 MLB Draft according to MLB.com, Stanford’s Malcolm Moore has earned an invite to this week’s Major League Baseball Draft Combine in Phoenix, Ariz.

Including Moore, a total of 319 prospects have accepted invitations to the fourth edition of the event, scheduled for June 18-23 at Chase Field, including 171 members of MLB Pipeline's Draft Top 200 and 22 of the first 30 prospects on that list.

Moore wrapped up a sophomore season that saw him compile 42 runs scored, eight doubles, 16 homers and 36 RBIs while slugging .553 with a .414 on-base percentage. A 2024 Buster Posey Award semifinalist, Moore has twice been named Pac-12 All-Conference honorable mention. The unanimous Freshman All-American in 2023, Moore was the 2023 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year.

Over his first two seasons on The Farm, Moore has hit .288 with 92 runs scored, 28 doubles, 31 home runs and 99 RBIs while slugging .560 and posting a .399 on-base percentage.

MLB Network will broadcast the combine live from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. PT on Tuesday, the first of two days of pro-style workouts. The telecast will include batting practice and infield/outfield drills for position players and bullpen sessions for pitchers, as well as analysis of the prospects and interviews with players and team executives.

Other on-field highlights at the Combine include a game for high schoolers on Tuesday evening, and another workout on Wednesday. Strength and conditioning workouts will be held on Thursday and Friday.

Off the field, prospects will meet with general managers, scouting directors and other club officials throughout the Combine.

The 2024 MLB First-Year Player Draft will take place July 14-26, in Arlington, Texas, and will consist of 20 rounds. Stanford has amassed 34 first-round picks in program history, including 19 since 2000. In addition, Stanford has had 12 players drafted in the first two rounds of an MLB Draft since 2011. The Cardinal saw nine players selected in the 20 rounds of last year’s draft. Stanford's nine selections were the most for the Cardinal since 2019 - a year it saw nine selected in a 40-round draft.
