STANFORD, Calif. – Graduate student Owen Cobb and freshman Christian Lim were named Pac-12 All-Conference, and Cobb was named to the All-Defensive Team, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
In addition to the two on the All-Conference squad, sophomores Malcolm Moore and Jimmy Nati were named honorable mention.
A Pac-12 All-Conference honorable mention selection a year ago, Cobb has batted .324 with 35 runs scored, 15 doubles, two triples, seven homers and 32 RBIs. He has hit safely in 17 of his last 19 games and 24 of his last 30 overall, managing multiple hits in 18 of those 30 contests entering the Pac-12 Tournament. One of the most consistent hitters down the stretch for the Cardinal, Cobb has compiled a team-best 22 multi-hit games. Particularly impressive in Pac-12 play, Cobb led the team with a .378 average while compiling 20 runs scored, 13 doubles, three homers and 18 RBIs against conference foes.
Cobb was named to the All-Defensive Team after starting all 52 games so far at second base. The native of Seattle, Wash. has committed just two errors on 220 chances for a .991 fielding percentage.
Lim has turned in a strong first season on The Farm, earning a pair of Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week selections to become the first Stanford pitcher to earn the honor multiple times in a season since Quinn Mathews won it three times and Alex Williams twice in 2022. Lim was named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week after tossing six shutout innings while allowing three hits with 10 strikeouts to earn his first career victory at Rice on March 2 before striking out a career-best 11 batters over 6 1/3 scoreless innings vs. Creighton on March 24 to earn his second career Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week honor.
The left-hander has made 13 starts so far this season, pitching to a team-best 4.35 ERA and a 4-6 record with 80 strikeouts over 72 1/3 innings. A native of Nashville, Tenn., Lim has turned in six quality starts in his inaugural campaign.
Moore connected for eight of his 13 home runs on the season during Pac-12 play, scoring 27 runs and driving in 18 more against conference foes. The native of Sacramento, Calif. also drew 25 walks in Pac-12 action, posting a .410 on-base percentage while slugging .514. Overall on the season, Moore has compiled 38 runs scored, seven doubles, the 13 homers and 32 RBIs while drawing 42 walks to rank second in the Pac-12.
Moore was the 2023 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and garnered Pac-12 All-Conference honorable mention honors a season ago.
Nati has batted .312 overall this season, scoring 28 runs and posting 21 doubles, a triple and eight homers to the tune of 41 RBIs. The native of Sydney, Australia ranks second in the Pac-12 in doubles while leading the team in RBIs and ranking second in home runs behind Moore. He has also managed 19 multi-hit games this season.
Nati has hit safely in all but 15 games this year, including 11 of his last 16, and 17 of his last 24 overall entering the Pac-12 Tournament. Turning in a breakout sophomore campaign, Nati scored 20 runs with 10 doubles, eight homers and 25 RBIs while batting .299 in Pac-12 play.
Stanford enters the 2024 Pac-12 Baseball Tournament as the No. 8 seed and will open play at 10 a.m. Tuesday against No. 5 seed Arizona State.
