• Stanford swept back-to-back conference series for the first time since 2013 to open the conference slate.
• The Card has won each of its first three series in Pac-12 play.
NiJa Doing NiJa Things
Sophomore NiJaree Canady is off to a dominant start to the 2024 season.
• Canady leads the nation in strikeouts (172), strikeouts per seven innings (11.2), ERA, (0.52) and hits allowed per seven innings (3.02).
• The sophomore has been named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week four times this season, and seven times in her career.
Power Surge
Through 62 games last season, the Cardinal combined to hit just 26 home runs. Through the first 33 games of 2024, the Card has already hit 29.
• In 2023, the team combined for a .394 slugging percentage while batting .280.
• This season, the slugging percentage is up to .466 while the batting average has risen to .286.
• Last season, seven different players hit at least one home run. This year, that number is up to 10.
• Aly Kaneshiro led the team with seven home runs last year. Freshman Ava Gall is currently leading the team with six.
A complete staff
The Cardinal's entire pitching staff has been strong to open the 2024 season, boasting a combined 1.69 ERA through 33 games.
• Senior Regan Krause has picked up 10 wins in 18 appearances (12 starts), across 69.1 innings pitched.
• Freshman Alyssa Houston has allowed just six earned runs in 29.1 innings of work, for a 1.43 ERA.
• The Cardinal has posted 13 shutouts in 33 games this season.
Beating the Best
The Card has played 14 games against teams ranked in the NFCA's top 25
• Stanford is 9-5 against ranked teams, and 18-1 against unranked foes.
• The Cardinal has beat a top-3 team three times on the season: No. 2 Tennessee on Feb. 16, No. 2 Texas on Feb. 24 and No. 5 Georgia March 3.
Preseason Accolades
Stanford was ranked in the top four in four different preseason polls, including a top-3 selection in the NFCA/USA Today poll for just the second time in program history.
