No. 6 Stanford begins the final week of the regular season with a doubleheader against Sacramento State on Wednesday. The Cardinal swept a road doubleheader against the Hornets last season in the team's most recent meeting.
Stanford has produced one of its most impressive seasons in recent memory and is chasing its first 40-win campaign since 2012.
The Cardinal has been a top-10 fixture in the polls for much of the season, ranking as high as No. 5 in the nation. Stanford has totaled eight top-25 victories this season.
Stanford pieced together a 21-game winning streak earlier this season, spanning from Feb. 12-March 17. It's the second-longest winning streak in program history, trailing only a 28-game unbeaten stretch from Feb. 7-March 23 in 2009.
Stanford will honor its six-member class of Tatum Boyd, Taylor Gindlesperger, Gabi Peters, Emily Schultz, Sydney Steele and Emily Young for Senior Day on Sunday.
The seniors have combined to lead Stanford to a 165-78 overall record and three NCAA appearances, highlighted by a memorable 2022 campaign in which the Cardinal won the Tuscaloosa Regional and reached its first Super Regional since 2011.
Stanford has displayed marked progress every season under head coach Jessica Allister, who owns a 189-109 overall record (.631) in six seasons on The Farm. Allister's career coaching record is 479-216 (.688) and includes a 290-107 (.730) mark during a seven-year tenure at Minnesota.
