STANFORD, Calif. -- Junior Regan Krause was dealing on Saturday, tossing a two-hit shutout to lead the No. 14 Stanford Cardinal over the Villanova Wildcats 3-0.
Krause (4-1) went the distance for Stanford (17-2), giving up two hits, walking one and striking out nine, tying her career high which she set against Nevada.
Offensively, the Cardinal were paced by freshman River Mahler, who went 1-for-4 on the day with a triple. Senior Emily Schultz compiled a standout effort as well, going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Senior Kaitlyn Lim also helped out for Stanford, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cardinal took the lead for good in the second off an RBI single from sophomore Allie Clements, scoring Schultz from first base.
The Cardinal then tacked on runs in the fourth and fifth innings off of the bats of Emily Young and Schultz.
