STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford men's basketball dominated both ends of the floor on Friday night, earning an 85-40 victory over visiting Green Bay at Maples Pavilion. Stanford improves to 4-6 this season.
Ryan Agarwal led the team with a career-high 11 points, while he was joined in double figures with 10 apiece from Spencer Jones, Brandon Angel and Jarvis Moss – the latter of whom also had a career high scoring output. James Keefe tallied eight points with a game-leading eight rebounds, while Isa Silva had four assists.
The Stanford defense forced Green Bay into 27 turnovers and a 26.5 percent clip from the field, and 19 percent mark from 3-point range. The Cardinal had 11 steals, led by three from Michael Jones, and eight blocks, paced by two each from Angel, Max Murrell and Maxime Raynaud.
Green Bay's 27 turnovers were the most for Stanford under head coach Jerod Haase, and the most since forcing 27 against UC Davis on Nov. 28, 2006.
The Cardinal were fast out of the gate, sprinting to a 19-3 advantage through eight minutes. The home team led by as many as 23 points in the first half, with Silva hitting a pair at the stripe to send Stanford into the intermission with a 42-19 lead.
The second half was a clone of the first, with Stanford outscoring the Phoenix, 43-21. Moss scored all 10 of his points in the second half, including a pair of 3-pointers. Benny Gealer made his career debut, finishing with three points and three assists.
