FORT WORTH, Texas - Stanford men's golf wrapped up play at the 2022 Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday with a seventh-place finish at Colonial Country Club. The Cardinal was 11-over on the day to finish the event with a 5-over 845. In a field that featured our Top-5 teams, six Top-10 programs and 10 of the nation's Top-20 ranked schools, Stanford bested No. 4 Oklahoma, No. 9 Georgia Tech, No. 12 Georgia, No. 14 Florida, No. 25 Wake Forest, No. 27 Oregon and No. 30, and defending national champion, Texas.
After winning the Fighting Illini Invitational, junior Michael Thorbjornsen once again led Stanford with his tie for eighth at this week's event. It was Thorbjornsen's eighth-career, Top-10 finish.
As a team, the Cardinal mustered just seven birdies during Tuesday's final round, and all five golfers were above par.
Stanford returns to the course for next week's Stephens Cup event at Seminole Golf Club. The three-day event will feature two days of stroke play, followed by a final round of match play, and will be live on GOLF Channel all three days.
