STANFORD, Calif. - No. 12 Stanford completed a weekend sweep of its SoCal rivals, finishing the job with a 6-1 victory over No. 23 UCLA on Sunday afternoon at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
Stanford (5-0), which defeated No. 8 USC 4-1 on Saturday, remained unbeaten on the season midway through a four-match homestand. This weekend's matches will not factor into the Pac-12 standings, as the March 25-26 contests in Los Angeles are the designated counting matches.
The Cardinal captured the doubles point for a 1-0 lead and rattled off three straight singles wins, with Max Basing providing the clincher with a 6-2, 7-5 victory on court three.
The doubles point was decided at the No. 2 spot, where Axel Geller and Tomas Kopczynski prevailed 7-6 (6).
Alexandre Rotsaert and Sangeet Sridhar pushed the Cardinal closer before Basing made it official.
UCLA (2-3) collected its only point at the No. 4 position, as Karl Lee outlasted Aryan Chaudhary.
Stanford returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 9, hosting UC Davis at 2 p.m.
