BERKELEY, Calif. – Fifth-ranked Stanford women's swimming and diving swept both relays to defeat No. 8 California, 167-133 at the Spieker Aquatics Center. The Cardinal have won six of the last seven meetings against their Bay Area rival.
Regan Smith set the pool record in the 200 back with a 1:50.72 – winning the event by 2.45 seconds – while also picking up wins in the 200 fly (1:54.51) and the 200 medley relay. The freshman was joined by Allie Raab, Emma Wheal and Anya Goeders on the winning medley relay team, as the Cardinal set the tone early with a 56th-hundreds of a second victory.
Stanford closed out the meet with a decisive victory in the 400 free relay from Wheal, Taylor Ruck, Amy Tang and Torri Huske – 3:16.13 to 3:17.42. Huske also won the 50 free (22.28) and the 100 fly (51.92).
In all the Cardinal took home victories in the 1000 free (Brooke Forde- 9:53.64), 1-meter diving (Daria Lenz- 309.30), 500 free (Morgan Tankersley- 4:49.47) and the 3-meter diving (Maria Papworth- 421.73) to total 10 event victories on Saturday. Stanford's divers contributed 32 points in the dual.
With today's win the Cardinal ends the season with a perfect 7-0 record in dual meets this season and a perfect 6-0 record in Pac-12 duals.
