STANFORD, Calif - The 2022 competition calendar is set, including two home meets for The Cardinal. Stanford's season will begin with a home meet against Wheaton College on January 15th and 16th.
This marks the inaugural Artistic Swimming season in the Mountain Pacific Sports Conference. The conference will feature Wheaton College, Texas Woman's University, University of the Incarnate World, and Stanford, who will host the first MPSF Artistic Swimming championships on February 12-13.
Following the opening meet against Wheaton, Stanford will travel to Denton, Texas, to compete against Texas Woman's University on January 28th. The Cardinal will be on the road again in Columbus, Ohio to face Ohio State in the Jessica Beck Invitational.
Following the MPSF championships on February 12-13, Stanford will travel to Elk Grove, CA for the Western Regionals competition on February 12-13. To finish the season, The Cardinal will be back in Columbus, Ohio for the Collegiate Nationals, hosted by USA Artistic Swimming on March 25-27.
The Cardinal will look to build on an impressive 2021 campaign. This past April in its own Avery Aquatic Center, Stanford claimed its ninth national championship in program history. The Cardinal also captured titles in 2016, 2013, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 1999 and 1998. Stanford is also one of just three teams in the nation to sweep first-place at the collegiate nationals in the solo, duet, trio, team, and overall competitions.
This season, Stanford will feature Lindi Schroeder this season, a freshman standout who competed for the United States this summer in the Tokyo Olympics. Schroeder performed in the duet category, finishing 13th overall and with a score of 172.7293.
