True to form, the Cardinal shot out of the gates quickly, scoring three of the game's first four goals, including a penalty goal from Tyler Abramson and two from Walker Seymour.

After USC took the lead at 4-3, the two traded goals before a long ball from AJ Rossman to give Stanford a 6-5 halftime lead.

The early portion of the third frame belonged to the Cardinal, as Stanford rattled off three straight goals in the opening two and a half minutes to own a 9-5 advantage. The Trojans responded with three straight of their own in less than 90 seconds, as Stanford's cushion was quickly erased.

Larsen Weigle fired his lone goal of the afternoon to end the third with Stanford up 11-10, but USC proceeded to put the clamps on and continue its offensive momentum in the final stanza, closing out the 15-11 victory.
