Margot and Mitch Milias Director of Women's Golf Anne Walker announced the addition of three Cardinal on Wednesday's National Letter of Intent Day. The Cardinal signed the top-ranked amateur in the world in Rose Zhang (Irvine, Calif.), as well as Caroline Sturdza (Geneva, Switzerland) and Yu Wen Lu (Shanghai, China).
"We are really excited to add a diverse, talented and exciting group of young women to our roster in Fall 2021," Walker said. "We worked hard to bring together a class that fits our team culture and will strengthen our roster as we compete for a National Title. I am proud of our efforts and know that we will be kicking off the 2021-22 season with some of the best freshmen in the country."
Rose Zhang (Irvine, Calif.)
Daughter of Haibin Zhang and Li Cai…sister of Bill Sida Zhang…the world's top-ranked amateur according to WAGR…2020 U.S. Women's Amateur Champion…two-time Rolex Junior Player of the Year (2019-20)…four-time Curtis Cup Player of the year for Southern California (2017-20)…2020 ANA Inspiration Low Amateur, breaking Michelle Wie's amateur scoring record…will graduate from Pacific Academy in 2021.
Walker on Zhang: "As the top-ranked amateur in the world and the reigning U.S. Women's Amateur Champion, Rose will arrive at Stanford next fall with her eyes on the team record books and the opportunity to etch her name into Stanford Golf history as an individual and also, as a team player. Caroline Sturdza (Geneva, Switzerland)
Daughter of Georges-Alexandre and Elodie Sturdza…sister of Camille and Maximilien…brother is a sophomore at Florida Atlantic University…named best student-athlete at Moser School Geneva two times…ranked No. 46 in the European Golf Rankings…ranked No. 239 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings…2018 Swiss National Junior Interclubs champion…two-time Swiss National Interclubs A1 champion…finished eighth at the European Ladies' Amateur Championship in 2020.

Yu Wen Lu (Shanghai, China)
Daughter of Wen Chu Lu and Yan Hua Lin…sister of Jing Wen Lu and Chun Xuan Lu…sister Jing Wen Lu is a golfer at Northwestern…2020 Eagle Invitational Champion…four Top-20 finishes during 2020…seven Top-10 finishes total…world-best ranking of No. 773 in the WAGR.
Walker on Lu: "Yu Wen is an extremely patient, committed, and hardworking student and golfer. Coming from China to pursue elite level golf and academics, she follows in the footsteps of Ziyi Wang and Lei Ye on our current team. Yu Wen's positive and never quit attitude is always on display when she is competing and that makes her a strong, dependable golfer.
