Season Notables
» Stanford finished the season ranked 23rd in the IWLCA Coaches Poll.
» All four of Stanford's losses came against top-10 ranked opponents (No. 10 Denver, No. 8 Virginia, No. 6 Northwestern, No. 8 USC) and by an average of only 3.2 points.
» In Stanford's three wins, the Cardinal defeated its opponents by an average of nine points.

» Stanford was 2-1 at home and 1-3 on the road in 2020.
» In NCAA Division I, the Cardinal ranked third in ground balls per game, sixth in draw control percentage, seventh in draw controls per game, 18th in scoring, 18th in clearing percentage, and 21st in shots per game.
» Stanford finished the season second in the Pac-12 overall and ranked first in ground balls per game (24.29), draw controls per game (18.29), shots per game (33.71) and shots on goal per game (25.00).
» Junior attacker Ali Baiocco was named a preseason All-America honorable mention by Inside Lacrosse. She was also named to the final Tewaaraton Award Watch List, which honors the top student-athletes in NCAA lacrosse. Baiocco finished the season tied for 40th in the nation in shots per game (6.86)

» This was Stanford's first season under new head coach Danielle Spencer, who returned to The Farm after she turned around the Dartmouth program in just three years and earned Ivy League Coach of the Year honors in each of her final two seasons.
By the Numbers
» Stanford held the advantage against opponents in goals (104-90), assists (34-28), shots (236-190), ground balls (170-148), draw controls (128-76), and clear percentage (.897 - .825).
» Mikaela Watson led the Cardinal in goals (20) and points (26), Jay Browne led the team in assists (9), Ali Baiocco led the team in shots (48), Daniella McMahon led the team in ground balls (19), and Genesis Lucero led the team in draw controls (53).
» Goalkeeper Trudie Grattan started all seven games for the Cardinal and played 398:18 minutes. She had 46 saves and allowed 86 goals.
Draw Control Record
» With her 225th career draw control, redshirt senior Genesis Lucero broke Stanford's all-time draw control record during the Cardinal's 18-10 win over UC Davis.
» "Genesis works hard daily with a growth mindset," said head coach Danielle Spencer. "I'm really happy for her on this accomplishment, and I am immensely proud to be her coach."
» Lucero finished the 2020 season with 251 career draw controls. She was tied for ninth nationally in draw controls per game (7.57) and was first in the Pac-12.
» Lucero and Julia Massaro '19 are the only two players in school history to win more than 200 draw controls.

One Love game
» Stanford hosted its One Love Game against No. 8 Virginia on Feb. 14. The One Love Foundation was founded in honor of UVA lacrosse player, Yeardley Love, who lost her life to relationship abuse 10 years ago this May.

What's Ahead
» Freshman Jay Browne was featured as one of the notable newcomers in Stanford's "Fast Five: Impact Freshmen". Browne, a starter for the Cardinal since day one, scored a team-high four goals and two assists in her debut against No. 10 Denver. She finished the season leading Stanford in assists (9,) was tied for second in points (22), tied for fourth in goals (13) and ranked fifth in shots (24).

» Stanford will welcome nine freshman to The Farm as members of the class of 2024. The Cardinal announced eight signees last fall— Emma Capanna, Olivia Geoghan, Ashley Humphrey, Ailish Kelley, Sarah Jaques, Sarah Looney, Katie McMahon, and Sophia McMahon— and added Katy Gilbert, a midfielder from Lake Oswego, Ore. in April.
