FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Conor Casey captured the 1-meter springboard title on Wednesday night, highlighting an impressive start for Stanford at the Pac-12 Championships.
After placing third in the preliminary round with an average of 56.10, Casey led the pack with a score of 407.35 in the final. Arizona State's Youssef Selim finished second at 380.25 while Arizona's Bjorn Markentin was third at 375.95.
Casey is Stanford's 14th 1-meter conference champion in school history and first since Bradley Christensen repeated in 2017.
Casey, who posted a season-high 431.70 total last week in a dual against California, placed seventh last season in the same event at the Pac-12 Championships with a mark of 286.60.
The Cardinal will compete at Pac-12 Championships next week from March 4-7. Points from tonight's diving event will be added to next week's totals.
