TUCSON, Ariz. - Kyla Bryant delivered two individual event titles, highlighting No. 25 Stanford's performance in a 196.150-195.225 loss at No. 22 Arizona on Sunday afternoon.
Navigating through a challenging stretch featuring two meets in three days and four overall during a two-week span, Stanford was unable to find the same finishing kick displayed over its last two duals.
The Cardinal had very little time to regroup, returning to action less than 48 hours after producing its best road score of 2020 while becoming the first team this season to out-perform No. 1 Oklahoma on beam.
"We challenged the team with back-to-back meets this weekend," said head coach Tabitha Yim. "The weekend caught up with them on vault, where we had uncharacteristic performances, but I was proud of how we pulled together to finish the meet strong. We look forward to a long week of practice, recovery and training to set up for a strong finish to the regular season."
Bryant's two event titles were the focal point on Sunday, matching her career high with a 9.875 on vault and producing a 9.900 on floor. She finished with a 39.275 score in the all-around.
On floor, Morgan Hoang's 9.875 tied for the second-best overall mark while Taylor Lawson contributed a 9.825.
Both programs produced identical 49.050 scores in their first rotation before the Cardinal moved to vault.
Lawson's 9.850 led the Cardinal on beam.
Stanford's final home meet is scheduled for Monday, March 2, against Arizona State at 7 p.m. The Senior Night meet will honor Kaylee Cole, Ashley Tai and Aleeza Yu.
