STANFORD, Calif. – Three members of the Stanford men's tennis program were named to the All-Pac-12 teams. Sophomore Axel Geller was a First Team All-Pac-12 selection, while freshman Alexandre Rotsaert was a second team pick and junior William Genesen was an honorable mention selection.
Geller earned his second all-conference selection in as many years, after garnering second-team laurels as a freshman. The Cardinal sophomore is ranked No. 13 in the latest ITA singles rankings and has been among the top-50 in the poll all season. He owns a 17-7 overall record with a 10-6 mark in dual action. Geller, who provided the clincher in a pair of road wins at No. 45 Oregon and Washington last month, has played at the top singles spot all season. The sophomore also owns 10 dual wins in doubles, primarily playing with Rotsaert at the No. 1 or No. 2 spot.
Rotsaert owns a 19-8 overall record in his first season on The Farm. He is 12-7 in dual action, competing at the No. 1 and No. 2 spot. The freshman is 10-5 at No. 2 singles, with three wins in his last four singles matches. He is 18-8 in doubles play, primarily playing with Geller. He has been ranked in the ITA singles poll all season with a current ranking of No. 63.
Geller and Rotsaert were selected to play in the NCAA Doubles competition later this month at the USTA Campus in Orlando. Geller was also selected to compete in the NCAA Singles Championships. Rotsaert is an alternate for the NCAA singles competition.
Genesen is 16-7 overall this season, with an 11-3 dual record. He has been ranked in the ITA singles poll all season, with a current ranking of No. 91. The junior has played all his matches at either the No. 2 or No. 3 spot in the Cardinal singles lineup. Among his many highlights this season were 4-3 come-from-behind three-set clinchers at California and against Arizona in the Pac-12 Championships last month. He owns a 7-3 dual record in doubles play this spring, primarily playing with Jack Barber.
No. 12 Stanford (19-6) travels to No. 5 Virginia for an NCAA Round of 16 matchup in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday at 10 a.m. PT.
