STANFORD, Calif. – Freshman Zoe Bartel, junior Megan Byrnes and senior Ella Eastin were named to Team USA's roster for the World University Games, as announced by USA Swimming on Thursday.
The Stanford trio is among 52 men and women representing the United States for the meet in Naples, Italy. The seven-day swimming competition is scheduled for July 4-10, 2019. Full competition information can be found online at www.universiade2019napoli.it.
Bartel is a member of the U.S. national team and was one of the top recruits in the nation last season, while Byrnes has won three All-America honors, and Eastin is a 10-time national champion and the reigning NCAA Swimmer of the Year.
The Cardinal resume competition on Friday, November 9 against Texas at Avery. The meet is set for 2 p.m., and admission is free.
Stanford will host the 2019 U.S. National Championships at the Avery Aquatic Center, August 1-4.
