STANFORD, Calif. – Several current and future Cardinal competed in the TYR Pro Swim Series this past weekend at the George F. Haines International Swim Center in Santa Clara, California.
A handful of Cardinal posted top-10 finishes, led by incoming freshman Jack LeVant, who placed top-three in two events. LeVant, who hails from Southlake, Texas, finished second in the 200-meter freestyle (1:49.49) after posting 1:48.43 in preliminaries. He added a third-place finish in the 400-meter freestyle (3:51.47) and tenth in the 200-meter butterfly (1:59.98).
Fellow incoming freshman Daniel Roy (2:11.08) also posted a runner-up finish in the 200-meter breaststroke, and sophomore True Sweetser (15:19.86) was Stanford's highest finisher in the 1,500-meter freestyle.
Sweetser (3:54.63) also finished sixth in the 400 free, ahead of classmate Grant Shoults (3:58.74) in ninth, and fifth in the 800-meter freestyle (8:02.16), just behind teammate Johannes Calloni.
Calloni (8:01.88), a freshman, placed fourth in the 800 free to go along with a fifth-place finish in the 1,500 free (15:30.35). Junior Abrahm DeVine, the reigning 400-yard individual medley NCAA champion, posted a seventh-place finish in the 400-meter individual medley (4:27.24) after posting 4:24.89 in preliminaries.
