STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford women's rowing will compete in its 10th consecutive NCAA Championships Friday through Sunday, May 25-27, in Sarasota, Florida.

The Cardinal will race three boats in the championship regatta: the varsity eight, second varsity eight, and varsity four.

Racing begins for Stanford early Friday morning when the varsity eight competes in Heat 2 at 5:50 a.m. PT against Navy, USC, Iowa and Washington State. Last year, the Cardinal's top boat finished second overall.

"My goal for the varsity eight is to see if we can find our best piece, under duress, when it really matters," said senior coxswain Leigh Warner. "This means laying down a fast base and attacking every opportunity. If we do that, I think we will be happy with the result."

The second varsity eight will begin its championship quest at 6:22 a.m., racing in Heat 2 alongside Gonzaga, Wisconsin, Cal and Washington State. Stanford's varsity four will then take the water at 6:46 a.m. in Heat 1, facing USC, Washington, Brown and Gonzaga.

The top two boats in each heat will advance directly into Saturday's A/B semifinals in each boat. Boats that finish outside the top two in their Friday morning heats will race in Friday afternoon's repechage to determine their position in Saturday's semifinal races.

Sunday will mark the final day of racing, with Grand, Petite, C and D Finals all scheduled for each boat. The varsity eight Grand Final, which will feature the top six boats, is slated to take place at 8 a.m. The second varsity eight Grand Final is scheduled for 7:36 a.m., and the varsity four Grand Final is set for 7:12 a.m.

Fans can stream the NCAA Championships on the NCAA website for the entirety of the regatta. Live results will also be available here.

"We want to just go for it and hold nothing back," added junior Chase Shepley. "We want to go out and be ruthless, laying down our best every day."
