STANFORD, Calif. – No. 1 Stanford won its 13th game in a row on Sunday afternoon, defeating Oregon State 6-0 at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium.

Civana Kuhlmann scored twice, and Catarina Macario continued her superb form with two assists and one goal. Kyra Carusa and Michelle Xiao also scored, and Lauren Rood made three saves to earn her seventh shutout of the season.

The Cardinal (15-1-0 overall, 8-0-0 Pac-12) outshot the Beavers (4-9-3, 1-6-1) 28-5, including 18 on goal, and never looked back after Carusa's sixth-minute opener. Michelle Xiao won a free kick on the edge of the box, setting up Macario for the service. The freshman curled it with pace to the near post, and Carusa was there to nod home her 12th of the season.

Macario, Carusa and Alana Cook each had chances to double the lead before Rood smartly tipped over an Oregon State corner in the 31st minute that appeared goal-bound. Two minutes later, Xiao doubled the lead.

Jordan DiBiasi and Macario combined at the edge of the box, setting up Xiao to blast home her seventh goal of the season with her left foot. Civana Kuhlmann made it 3-0 in the 40th minute with the assist going to Kiki Pickett. Kuhlmann dribbled toward the edge of the box and unleashed a left-footed curler into the top corner, leaving keeper Bella Geist with no chance.

After the break, Macario scored her 12th goal of the season for Stanford's fourth of the day. Tierna Davidson started the move from the back line, linking up with Macario and Belle Briede to find space in the box and cross to Macario. Macario's one-touch finish was perfectly placed inside the far post, giving her three goals and three assists on the week.

In the 71st minute, it was Briede who unlocked the Beavers' defense with a clever run to the end line and dangerous ball in, resulting in an own goal. Sam Tran's run in the box caused problems for Oregon State, which fell down 5-0 as a result.

Kuhlmann made it 6-0 in the 84th minute with a calm finish on the break after Sophia Serafin put her through over the top. It was Kuhlmann's second two-goal outing in four games after scoring twice in front of her home-town fans at Colorado (Oct. 8).

Top-ranked Stanford wraps up the regular season against three ranked Pac-12 opponents, starting with trips to UCLA (Oct. 26) and USC (Oct. 29) before hosting Cal on Nov. 3 for Senior Day.

  • Stanford's shutout streak extends to 693:20 minutes – the Cardinal's last goal allowed was in the Pac-12 opener at Washington State (Sept. 21).
  • Stanford's 65 goals through 16 games are more than any team scored all of last season (Alabama State, 62).
  • Four Cardinal – Alana Cook, Kyra Carusa, Jordan DiBiasi and Tierna Davidson – have started all 16 contests thus far.
  • With four more points today, Macario leads the team with 33 points on the season – entering the week, she led the Pac-12 with 24 points.

  • Lauren Rood's shutout was her seventh in eight starts – she has allowed one goal in 720:00 minutes, holding a 0.13 goals-against average.
  • Midfielder Andi Sullivan was absent from today's game after starting the United States National Team's 3-1 win over Korea in New Orleans on Thursday.
