STANFORD, Calif. - Senior Caroline Doyle was named to the 2016-17 CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's At-Large second team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
It's the second notable academic honor for Doyle over the last two weeks, as the Cardinal co-captain was also recently tabbed the Pac-12 Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Doyle is 18-10 overall and ranked No. 38 nationally this season in singles, playing nine of her matches at the No. 1 position. In doubles, Doyle has teamed up with Melissa Lord to post a 15-5 overall record as Stanford's No. 2 duo.
An international relations major carrying a 3.87 cumulative GPA, Doyle played a key role in leading Stanford to the 2016 NCAA championship. At No. 15, the Cardinal became the lowest-seeded team to capture an NCAA title, with Doyle providing the clinching point in Stanford's dramatic NCAA quarterfinal victory over Michigan. Doyle owns a 103-37 overall singles record and is 60-22 in duals during her career. Doyle is also an accomplished doubles player, earning All-America honors twice while chalking up an 89-36 career record.
Doyle is a two-time Pac-12 All-Academic selection, named to the first team as a junior and second team as a freshman. A two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete recipient, Doyle will remain in the Bay Area following graduation, pursuing a career in investment management.
The academic all-district at-large teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. The teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada with District 8 encompassing Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawai'i, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Canada.
