STANFORD, Calif. – Hat tricks from Bret Bonanni and Adam Abdulhamid, and a combined shutout from goalies Drew Holland and Oliver Lewis guided No. 5 Stanford to a 20-0 victory over No. 17 Santa Clara Tuesday night at Avery Aquatic Center.
The Cardinal won its sixth straight game to improve to 20-6 overall, posting its third straight 20-win season and ninth overall under head coach John Vargas.
It's the third shutout of the season overall and second over Santa Clara in 2015.
Bonanni capped a five-goal first period for Stanford, scoring all three of his goals in the final 1:34 of the quarter.

The Cardinal added three scores in the second quarter, capped by a BJ Churnside score with 24 seconds remaining in the period to take an 8-0 lead into the break.

Adam Abdulhamid netted a pair of goals in the first two minutes of the second half to give him three for the night as the redshirt junior posted his 10th hat trick of the season.
Stanford also got multiple goals form Reid Chase, Justin Roberto and Cody Smith, en route to its seventh 20-goal game of the season.

Bonanni, the Stanford and Mountain Pacific Sports Federation career scoring leader, has scored 348 career goals. He has a team-leading 82 goals on the year. Bonanni has scored in 25 of Stanford’s 26 games with multiple goals in 21 contests this season.
