Team Earns Academic Honor

STANFORD, Calif. -- Stanford added one more honor to its conference championship season by being named to list of Academic Honor Squads by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.

Each year, the IWLCA recognizes programs who have compiled a team grade-point average of at least 3.0. The Cardinal did so and was among 85 teams in Division I to be recognized. Stanford also was among 20 NCAA tournament teams to be named to the list.

Thirty Cardinal had cumulative GPA's over 3.00.

Stanford finished 15-3 in 2015, tying for the fewest losses in school history, and will return eight starters from the squad that captured both the regular-season and tournament titles in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.

Two players were named to the IWCLA All-America team: junior Lucy Dikeou and junior defender Adrienne Anderson. Dikeou later earned a spot on the U.S. national team, and will head into the 2016 Stanford season as one of the top players in the nation.
