GWANGJU, South Korea -- The World University Games’ pool competitions concluded with Team USA captain Felicia Lee '14 and the red, white and blue earning a bronze medal in the 400-meter medley relay. Lee is the second Cardinal to earn a medal after rising junior Lia Neal helped the USA 400-meter freestyle relay squad to gold.
It was a tight finish in the 400 medley relay, as the top three finishers were within 0.25 seconds of each other. Italy won the finale in 4:00.50, Japan was second at 4:00.61 with the USA closely behind at 4:00.75.
Elizabeth Pelton (1:00.53), Lilly King (1:08.02), Lee (58.15) and Shannon Vreeland (54.05) made up the bronze-medal winning crew.
In the United States, a one-hour swimming and diving recap show will air on ESPNU on July 16.
