LOS ANGELES- No. 14 Stanford dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 6 USC on Saturday afternoon, coming away with a split of its challenging SoCal road swing.

Stanford (11-3, 5-1 Pac-12), which defeated No. 4 UCLA 4-3 yesterday, lost for the first time in eight matches. USC (17-2, 6-0 Pac-12) completed a sweep of the Bay Area schools after beating California 6-1 on Saturday.

USC captured the doubles point for a 1-0 lead, storming its way to quick victories on courts Nos. 1 and 3.

The Trojans then ripped off three straight wins in singles, with Gabriella DeSimone's 6-1, 7-6 (3) triumph over Ellen Tsay at the No. 5 spot serving as the clincher.

The Cardinal collected its only point on court four, where Stacey Tan defeated Giuliana Olmos 6-2, 7-6 (3).
