STANFORD, Calif.- No. 6 Stanford posted its sixth consecutive shutout on Wednesday afternoon, pounding Cal Poly 7-0 in the first of two non-conference matches this week.
Leading 1-0 after capturing the doubles point, Mallory Burdette and Nicole Gibbs both registered 6-1, 6-1 victories at the top of the lineup before Natalie Dillon's 6-2, 6-4 triumph at the No. 5 spot provided the clincher.
Amelia Herring made the most of her appearance in the lineup, notching a 7-6, 6-4 win on court six.
Stanford (14-0, 6-0 Pac-12) next faces Santa Clara on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in its final non-conference match. The Cardinal concludes the year with three very challenging matches, squaring off against USC, UCLA and California. All three of those contests will be played at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
