TUCSON, Ariz.-- Stanford Diving had its first major meet of the season and Meg Hostage finished sixth in the three-meter (282.35) and Brent Eichenseer was seventh in the one-meter (291.95) on the first of three days of diving in the desert.
Hostage's best dive was her final one, a 53.20 score off a back ½ somersault and 2 ½ twist, scoring two 7.0's from the judges. Eichenseer's dive was his first, a forward 2 ½ somersault pike for 53.30 points.
Taylor Sishc just missed the top-8 by three points, finishing ninth in the preliminaries with a score of 284.10. Siscc was fourth in the consolation finals of the one-meter (285.10), Duruv Tyagi was sixth (266.70) and Noah Garcia was eighth (264.55).
The Wildcat Invitational runs through Sunday with the one-meter women's and three-meter men's competition on Saturday and the platform competition on Sunday. Stanford Swimming continues its meet in Long Beach at the Arena Invite through Saturday.
