Stanford, Calif. - Stanford women's golf again played host to an elite field at the Stanford Intercollegiate for Saturday's second round. The Cardinal currently sit in 13th place after a round of 12-over-par on Saturday.
Arizona State continues to lead the tournament after a round of 2-under-par 282. The Sun Devils are now 13 strokes below par and have a seven shot lead on UCLA. The Bruins and Texas are the only other teams under par. UCLA is at six under, while the Longhorns are at four under.
Stanford is now 30-over-par after rounds of 304 and 296. The Cardinal actually shot one of the lower rounds of the day on Saturday, but fell one place to 13th.
Freshman Kristina Wong led Stanford in round two with a 2-over-par 73. Wong is now 4-over-par for the tournament and tied for 29th overall. Also in that tie is Angela King who shot a 4-over-par 75 on Saturday, a day after an even par round.
Fellow freshman Sally Watson also played well on Saturday, carding a 2-over-par 73. Watson is now 10-over-par for the tournament and tied for 56th.
In a tie for 66th is Sydney Burlison after a round of 5-over-par 76. Also competing is Lila Barton who is 22-over-par for the tournament. Barton shot a round of 84 on Saturday.
The Cardinal also have a pair of individuals competing, including Rebecca Durham who shot the best round of the day for Stanford. Durham played a round of even par 71 and is tied for 22nd overall. Also competing as an individual is Piper Miller, who sits in 76th-place after a round of 81.
The Cardinal will wrap up the Stanford Intercollegiate on Sunday with the third and final round. Stanford will look to build some momentum and climb up the leaderboard.
