Sydney Burlison Leads Stanford At The Desert Individual Classic

La Quinta, Calif. - Stanford women's golf traveled south to compete in The Desert Individual Classic, an 18 hole individual stroke play tournament at the PGA West Stadium Course on Friday.

Competing along with Stanford were California, Harvard, UC-Davis and UCLA.

Sydney Burlison led Stanford with a 2-over-par 74 to tie for third. PGA West Stadium course played a par 72 of 6,166 yards.

Tiffany Joh of UCLA and Pail Halbig of Cal shared medalist honors with scores of 1-over-par 73.

Angela King was the other top Stanford performer, finishing seventh with a score of 4-over-par 76.

Also faring well for Stanford was Rebecca Durham who placed 10th with a score of 6-over-par 78.

Rounding out the Cardinal squad were Lila Barton who shot a score of 10-over-par 82 and Piper Miller who shot a score of 20-over-par 92.

The Cardinal will be back in action Fri.-Sun., April 3-5 when they travel to Tempe, Arizona to take part in the PING ASU Invitational from Karsten Golf Course.
