After day one of the PING/ASU Invitational from Tempe, Ariz. Stanford sits in 14th place. The Cardinal posted a team score of 19-over-par 307. USC leads with a score of 7-under-par 281.

Host Arizona State sits in second place with an ever-par score of 288. Rounding out the top-5 are Georgia with a score of 1-over-par 289, Oklahoma State with a score of 4-over-par 292, and Texas A&M with a score of 5-over-par 293.

The Cardinal were once again led by Mari Chun who is in a tie for 22nd after shooting 1-over-par 73. Chun, who was the runner-up in this tournament last year, is five strokes off the lead held by Dewi Claire Schreefel of USC who shot a 4-under-par 68.

Also faring well for Stanford was Rebecca Durham who finished in a tie for 52nd with a 5-over-par 77. Catherina Wang finished with a six-over-par 78 to sit in a tie for 62nd.

The final two golfers for Stanford were Angela King who shot a 7-over-par 79 to sit in a tie for 69th and Saana Rapakko who shot a 9-over-par 81 to sit in a tie for 78th.

Competing as an individual was Ki-Shui Liao. Liao played well, shooting a 3-over-par 75 to tie for 38th.

Stanford will be back at the ASU Karsten Golf Course tomorrow for the second of three rounds. The Cardinal will look to move up in the overall standings from their current 14th place position.
