Trent Edwards threw for a career-high four TD passes to become the first Stanford quarterback to throw for four or more touchdowns in a game since Chris Lewis connected on four TD passes in a 35-28 win over California on November 17, 2001

Evan Moore tied a career-high with his two touchdown receptions, equaling the two he picked up the last time the Cardinal played San Jose State in a 43-3 win over the Spartans on September 4, 2004

Stanford's 34 points in the first half were the most the Cardinal had scored since getting 31 in a 45-35 win over Arizona State on October 22, 2005

Toby Gerhart was Stanford's leading rusher for the second consecutive game to began his collegiate career, rushing for a career-high 82 yards on 13 carries after getting 55 yards on 16 carries at Oregon (9/2/06) in his first collegiate game last Saturday ... Gerhart was a two-sport (baseball, football) prep standout at Norco High School (Norco, CA) from 2002-05, rushing for an amazing 9622 yards in his career to set the all-time California high school record and accumulate the third-highest rushing total ever by a high school player in the nation ... Gerhart rushed for 3233 yards and scored 39 TD's as a senior ... He is also planning on playing baseball at Stanford

David Lofton (12), Brandon Harrison (11, tie), Pat Maynor (9) and Clinton Snyder (8), Tim Sims (6), Pannel Egboh (6) and Udeme Udofia (6) all had career-highs in tackles

Clinton Snyder recorded the first interception of his career when he picked off a Adam Tafralis pass and returned it 10 yards to the San Jose State 20 with 11:20 to go in the second quarter to set up an eventual 1-run yard TD run by Nick Frank on the ensuing Stanford drive

Richard Sherman and Jim Dray both made the first touchdown catches of their career with Sherman posting career-bests of six receptions and 71 yards to lead the Cardinal in receptions and finish second to Evan Moore's 84 yards receiving

Stanford's 185 yards rushing were the team's most since rushing for 218 in a 24-21 win at Washington State on October 8, 2005

Stanford had won previously won four straight games against the Spartans, including all three of the previous games played at San Jose State ... Stanford still leads the all-time series, 46-14-1

Stanford has now played its first two games on the road for the first time since 1995 when the Cardinal began the season with wins at San Jose State and Utah
