Boston College senior quarterback Brian St. Pierre has thrown for at least one touchdown in 14 consecutive games dating back to the 2001 season opener against West Virginia. In the 14 games, he has thrown for 30 touchdowns, including 25 last year (plus 1 TD in the Music City Bowl). St. Pierre extended his streak across two seasons last week with three touchdown passes in a 24-16 victory over Connecticut and this week with a three-yard pass to junior tight end Sean Ryan in the second quarter. The catch was Ryan?s fourth career touchdown and his first this season.
Stanford redshirt freshman quarterback Kyle Matter threw his first career touchdown pass, a seven yard toss to sophomore wide receiver Teyo Johnson in the second quarter. This capped a six play, 90-yard drive in which Matter and Johnson accounted for 87 yards on two completions (80,7). Matter also scored his first career-rushing touchdown in the second quarter on a ten-yard run.
Stanford freshman place-kicker Michael Sgroi was 2-2 in field goal attempts, one from 42 yards in the first quarter and another for 24 yards in the third quarter. He also converted two PAT?s in two attempts.
Boston College sophomore running back Brandon Brokaw scored his first career touchdown on a two yard run to finish off a nine play, 70 yard drive in the second quarter.
Boston College junior place-kicker Sandro Sciortino kicked a 29-yard field goal with 1:09 remaining in the first half. This followed an interception by senior free safety Ralph Parent, his fifth career interception and first this season. Sciortino missed to the left in the third quarter on a 34-yard attempt. Sciortino kicked a career long 40-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to tie the game with 6:27 remaining.
Boston College junior fullback J.P. Comella caught a career high four passes for 46 yards in the first half before leaving the game with an injury.

Boston College recovered two fumbles, the second in the fourth quarter which was forced by linebacker Brian Flores and returned 32 yards by junior linebacker Josh Ott to the Stanford nine-yard line. Junior running back Derrick Knight scored on the next play with a nine-yard touchdown run. Knight later added a twelve-yard go-ahead score to complete a five-play, 65-yard drive with 36 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. The scores were his third and fourth career rushes for a touchdown and his first two of the season. Knight surpassed 100 yards rushing for the second consecutive week with 21 carries for 104 yards following a 15-105 performance against Connecticut.
